The festival of Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The lamps and lights are lit as a sign of celebration and hope. Diwali is the most popular holidays in Hindu countries and is celebrated for five days and nights. On these days, people light tiny diyas so that their entire home is filled with bright light. They also create lovely designs all around their home with colourful rangoli art.
Diwali is not just a celebration of light, but also of social gatherings where people exchange greetings and share sweets with loved ones. This festival is also filled with spiritualism and religious activities such as worship of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, Ma Kali, Lord Chitragupta and worship of Govardhan Parvat.
In 2009, Diwali will be falling on October 17th and in 2010 Diwali it will be on November 05th.
