Saint Valentine is the name of several martyred saints who lived in ancient Rome. It is however special for lovers to have a day of celebration and announcement of their love on the day of the feast of Saint Valentine which takes place on February 14th every year. Not much is known about the same but there have been studies and publications on his history and his sacrifice.

It is said that Saint Valentine was a roman priest who was martyred on orders on Claudius II. In that era, it was considered to be a crime to help Christians.

Saint Valentine, on the contrary, married Christian couples who wanted to live together.

Taken as a prisoner, he was kept jailed. However, the emperor Claudius still had a soft corner for him. Things turned when Saint Valentine tried to convert Claudius to Christianity due to which he was sentenced to death. He was beheaded when stones and clubs could not bring him death.

It is on this day when Saint Valentine died that Valentine’s Day is celebrated and people express their love for their partners and spouses. People celebrate this as a day of great importance in their love life and try their best to make it special for their partner by giving them a special gift of love.
